Figeac

If it's Saturday then a visit to Figeac is a must, absorbing the sights and smells of the town market, plus following the tourist guide route of the town taking in all it has to offer.

Figeac was the home of Jean Francois Champollion who in 1822 unlocked the meaning of Egyptian hieroglyphics - a copy of the Rosetta Stones can be found just behind the Champollion museum.

The towns other famous son was Charles Boyer a famous actor, but also used by Walt Disney as your typical Frenchman when creating the character Pepe le Pew.

A different route back home via Cardailliac an amazing medieval fortified village with a special treat!
